Environmental, Health and Safety Policy
The Shangri-La Chiang Mai is an environmental, health and safety conscious hotel providing accommodation, food and beverage services to a varied clientele in a manner that best conserves resources, whilst maintaining its high standards of customer service and fulfilling its role as a good corporate citizen.
The following is the environmental, health and safety (EHS) policy statement of the Shangri-La Chiang Mai, which serves as the basis for its Environmental, Health and Safety Management System in accordance with the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Standards.
1. Adopt the highest environmental standards in all areas of operation, meeting and exceeding all relevant legislative requirements.
2. Continually assess the environmental impact of all our operations and assist in developing solutions.
3. Minimize waste by evaluating operations and actively promote recycling both internally and amongst its customers and suppliers.
4. Ensure that water and energy are used responsibly and conserved through innovative practices and procedures.
5. Purchase sustainable products wherever feasible e.g. recycled or low environmental impact products
6. Continually improve health and safety of our colleagues through programs and controls to enable them to carry out their jobs in a safe and healthy workplace.
7. Implement training program to raise staff and business partners’ awareness of environment, health and safety issues.
8. Maintain safe and healthy working conditions and implement emergency procedures.
